Here are three patriotic quilts you may wish to make. No
instructions are included, but the blocks in these quilts are pretty
straightforward. Click here to download the PRJ for Electric
Quilt 5. You will need to have this program to open the
project. This
yellow ribbon wallhanging is made of nine 9" blocks. The ribbons float on their block so they can be easily squared without cutting into the points. They create their own faux sashing when set.

see the 29 x 29 wall hanging. Click on the block to the right for a
piecing diagram.

This
is the blue star service banner. It measures 16" X 25" and
is displayed in your front window if you have a relative in service to
their country. Each blue star represents a service member, so if you
have two or more family members in service, you can add their star
too. The blue star changes to gold if they are killed in
action:-(( The center area is a 9" x 18" rectangle, and
the borders are 3 1/2" wide. Click on the banner to the left to
see it up close. Click
here for a star template to fuse to the banner. (If a
yellow sun pops up in the lower right hand corner, be sure to click on it
to expand the graphic to its full size.) Add a seam allowance if you
want to applique the star.

 Salute
the flag! A surprisingly easy quilt to make. Click on the
thumbnail to the left to see it up close. There is really only
one block in this quilt, which can be easily paper pieced in different
colorways and set as shown in the thumbnail to the right. The small blocks
are 4" square. Put together, they are 8" square, so a quilt
made of 20 blocks would measure 34" x 42". Add a small
yellow border (or bind it in yellow) and you are done!
